Kristen Stewart was at the Premiere of “The Runaways” which was held at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York. Joan Jett who the film is all about was also at the event along with co star Dakota Fanning. Kristen Stewart was at the Premiere of her latest film “The Runaways” in LA last night which as fans will know is a biopic of Joan Jett. Multiple short interviews in this video feature including Kristen Stewart, Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning.

Kristen said of her role in the film:
“There’s only so much that you can get from photos and footage online, just stuff that you can dig up. To really capture someone’s essence, it’s nothing that you can ever claim,” she said modestly. “Joan is literally fire and she’s one of the most dynamic people that I’ve ever met…I could sort of hide behind her and play a rock star.”

The Runaways had its first airing this weekend at “The Runaways” Premiere at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival currently being held in Park City, Utah until the 31st Jan.

Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning as fans are aware were in involved in the shoot for this film late last year where Kristen Stewart plays the lead role of the lead singer Joan Jett in the new adaptation set in the 70’s called “The Runaways” see previous posts for on set photography! Video below, currently been out on You Tube approx 3 days at the time of writing!

The preview trailer is out in HD it’s short at approx 48 secs but this is as far away from Twilight as you can get but you could find some similarities.

This film is being aired at the Sundance Film Festival which starts soon in Park City, Utah. For those who live stateside this may be worth a look as K Stew and possibly R Pat could be there as this is a major celeb magnet event.

Very interesting to see what happens with this film as this will help Kristen branch out into other film genres and not get in the dreaded typecast trap of forever playing a Twilight role, Emma Watson in the Harry Potter series of films is a name that springs to mind in a similar situation, we think this is not the case with Kristen!

Kristen Stewart was spotted on the set of her new movie The Runaway in Los Angeles. Kristen plays Joan Jett in the film the biopic of this 70’s music star and her all girl rock band. An interesting move by Kristen Stewart, you could say what she is doing here is method acting of a sort where you learn as much about the role and immerse yourself into it, simply dying your hair black and putting on leathers is not enough.

 Joan Jett who Kristen plays is very much a real person that is still around now whereas Bella in Twilight was a book based fictional character. Two very different roles and what better way to learn more about Joan Jett, her look, her personality, her isms and things that make her who she is, than to hang out with the lady herself and get some pointers and tips.

Kristen Stewart was spotted in downtown LA on Monday wearing her leather gear and new mullet style black hairdo with a yellow top on set of the Runaways. Some indoor scenes from the shoot below along with some puffing scenes. Rumours and more rumours are flying around Kristen at present, things are heating up, we are aware, any confirmation of any of these, trust us…..they will be here! Kristen Stewart is right in the thick of filming the Joan Jett Biopic “The Runaways” where she plays the lead role of Joan Jett and is supported by Dakota Fanning. Recent photos are from filming on 22 July. New additions are arriving on set as the film progresses and Elvis Presley’s grand daughter is the most noted recent addition. Kristen’s look here is about as far away from Bella out of Twilight/New Moon as you can get. Black leather seems to be the standard gear for Kristen in this film so far……what the water pistol is for we haven’t got a clue! All photos Pacific Coast News
