Kristen Stewart was at the Premiere of “The Runaways” which was held at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York. Joan Jett who the film is all about was also at the event along with co star Dakota Fanning. Kristen Stewart was at the Premiere of her latest film “The Runaways” in LA last night which as fans will know is a biopic of Joan Jett. Multiple short interviews in this video feature including Kristen Stewart, Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning.

Kristen said of her role in the film:
“There’s only so much that you can get from photos and footage online, just stuff that you can dig up. To really capture someone’s essence, it’s nothing that you can ever claim,” she said modestly. “Joan is literally fire and she’s one of the most dynamic people that I’ve ever met…I could sort of hide behind her and play a rock star.”

The Runaways had its first airing this weekend at “The Runaways” Premiere at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival currently being held in Park City, Utah until the 31st Jan.

An interesting move by Kristen Stewart, you could say what she is doing here is method acting of a sort where you learn as much about the role and immerse yourself into it, simply dying your hair black and putting on leathers is not enough.

 Joan Jett who Kristen plays is very much a real person that is still around now whereas Bella in Twilight was a book based fictional character. Two very different roles and what better way to learn more about Joan Jett, her look, her personality, her isms and things that make her who she is, than to hang out with the lady herself and get some pointers and tips.
